Adam's Medulloblastoma Fund

Raising funds for research into Medulloblastoma

Adam's Medulloblastoma Fund is a Special Named Fund at CCLG raising money for research into Medulloblastoma.

Adam was four years old when in February 2017 he was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a brain tumour, His dad Mark shares his story.

In 2017 when Adam was 4 years old we noticed that he was unsteady on his feet. After a few GP and hospital appointments he was diagnosed with a medulloblastoma brain tumour. He had to undergo treatment for over a year which involved surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. The treatments have side effects many of which are permanent and Adam still has to take medication several times a day as a result.

Unfortunately in 2022 Adam relapsed and had to go through further surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. His sense of humour and fun personality have shone throughout treatment, but the treatment has been hard on him.

We would like to help fund research into better treatments for medulloblastoma and relapsed medulloblastoma so that outcomes can be improved and children do not have to suffer such long term and potentially permanent side effects. The chemotherapy treatments Adam underwent have not changed in decades and we hope that new improved ways of tackling this type of brain tumour can be found. This fund will help target research into children’s brain tumours which is an area that desperately needs more research funding.
